Official Steam group of the Nr. 2 Infanterie-Regiment "König Wilhelm"

We are an English-speaking multinational, although predominantly European, Mount & Blade: Warband Napoleonic Wars clan based around the principles of community, dedication and loyalty. We accept all people, regardless of specifics, as long as they abide by our focuses and rules.


History

The Regiment was founded in 1808 as the "Infanterie-Regt. Herzog Wilhelm", from the existing "Musketier-Bataillon Herzog Wilhelm" - to which in 1804 a second bataillon was added. In 1811 it was renamed to "Infanterie Regt. Nr. 2 Herzog Wilhelm". During the Russian campaign of 1812, the regiment was wiped out, but reorganised in the same year with the same name. In the campaign of France against Russia and Prussia in 1813, it was destroyed again and then re-erected again with the same name. The losses in the campaign against Napoléon in 1814 were compensated by the incorporation of the 4th and 5th infantry regiments. It was renamed to the Nr. 3 in 1817.
