your favourite game?
so I thought I'd start a list of everyone's favourite games and find out why it is that game.

for me my favourite game of all time is legacy of kain soul Reaver.

the story of this game captivates me more than anything I've played to this day the characters are very nuanced and they have in-depth back-stories personalities and conflicting motives. the world itself is a dark foreboding world where vampires rule the lands but over the course of the game you start to see cracks in a once perfect vampiric empire.

Fave..? Bah. to many to list.

I was there in the begining, c64. The first online game was Modem Wars.. Just like Ground Control / Supreme Comander but for 2, direct with 12oo baud modems. Kinda like lumpy foot ball field, setup your various sized / ranged team. 5 min max. Then move down the field. From wee spy's to one drednaught. No fog of war, they were just not drawn until you got close.

Later DooM with 4 ip adress's over arpa net. Nightmare getting started then no one dared quit. It would wreck it. Still have it installed.

Not so much the fave' game as how cool the evolution and tech was. Ravensoft did alot for the gaming world building on top of the DooM engine. The first real fog was from Raven'. Obsuring the distance and rolling in around yer feet. Heretic, thier first on DooM engine. There was a list of over a dozen things they brought to gaming ..I forget them all now. I still have it installed.

I have all the good ones still, all have updated engines and run on my Eyefinity tripplets.

DooM, Heretis HeXeN, Duke Nuke'em 3D, Quake, Unreal. Odd ones like Revenge of the Triad. Elder Scrolls series, Fallout, Test Drive, Need for Speed.

We ran servers from Quake forward, HeXeN 2, X-Men ..our own MOD Night Hunters on Quake 2.

RTS games didn't have that name yet. (Modem Wars)

RTS, Turn based and RPG were for wimps that couldn't get co-ordinated enought for shooters. I still played the better ones.

All fun.

Each has thier great moments. DooM's Spider Brains.. I would run the other way. Hellgate London ..something realy big was coming and going to eat ME! Run the other way. Night Hunters in the pitch black with rockets lighting the place up and looking for yer ass! RTOW!

Ground Control with its heavy artilery on hi, long and slow heavy barage, graceful and deadly. Trucks fish tailing in the dirt.

Hundreds of games.. some crap, some fell apart at run time (Diakatana). Change skins for naked ones. Or the one that was for MP Quake 2 ..with only hat, boots and eyes. And the hat an boots were optional.

Lotsa fun..

I have not got a favourite game I love most games but I prefer RTS's but if I had to narrow it down I would have had to say supreme commander forged alliance and sins of a solar empire rebellion and sword of the stars Prime

I don't have a favourite game either. I like Bethesda games for being open world sandbox, and having mods. Another company that I like is ubisoft, sega its cool too making total war games the games that I love the most its strategy, second RPG sandbox, but in this generation we don't see much of it, its just fps here and there, sad =/

I love RPGs such as the Elder Scrolls-series, I also enjoy open world-action games (the Grand Theft Auto-series, Red Dead Redemption and so on) but my fav game would probably be the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-series. It has pretty much everything that i like: Open world freeroaming, FPS-gameplay, Roleplay-elements such as weapon-customization with different attachments/Customizing your own character with different outfits and armor, Aswell as a rich, Interesting story that gets you hooked rather quickly. But what really makes me love S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (all of the games) is the atmosphere (or should i say atmosfear....?), It is absolutely spot-on. The ambient sounds are great and can really send shivers down your spine from time to time. The nights in the games are usually really dark, So you will not be able to see very well. Should you decide to turn off your flashlight it will be almost pitch black and you will not be able to see anything. That, Combined with the fact that mutants can come for you at any time - anywhere in said pitch black darkness of the night really makes you want to get inside a shelter fast when the darkness falls. That's my 2 cents on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. which i suggest you check out if you haven't already. I suggest trying Call of Pripyat with the Misery-mod. :)

For now, turn-based games and games that have low requirements. I've tried some huge games on this shitty laptop of mine and bam i have to get skyrim on low, fallout on low, total war on low, still lagging. I'd type more if this computer could WORK MORE. GODDAMNIT
