With the Holidays here it finally gave me the chance to work on a bot I started earlier this year called PhatBot. This bot is in our Discord now and will be handling Giveaways for us . So with the new features being added to the Curator System we felt that it would be important to talk about the update and it’s new features. So in this post we will discuss multiple aspects of the new update and what lead up to it.

We’ve had access to this update for quite some time although the game distribution system Curator Connect. Valve ran a beta with many of the leading Steam Curators in which we had early access to the system as well as a direct line to Valve for criticism, suggestions, and other elements of feedback. This is a great step forward for both communication on Valves front and the relevance of the Curator system. This lead to Valve and myself having a small voice conference as well as Phat32 taking a tour of the Valve Office which he may discuss himself in a future post. We hope that Valve continues to communicate with Curators and beta test the new features with us.

The main feature implemented in this update was Curator Connect which allows for Developers to directly send us their games with no key generation meaning no stolen copies and that it gets sent to a verified person. Now we have been absolutely stunned by how many developers want us to take a look at their games. Since the systems launch we have been sent over four hundred unique titles. I feel that it is crucial for this system to work well as it could become the lifeblood of the system itself.

In this update we also gained access to traffic stats to allow us to see how many impressions our curations make. Overall our most impactful curations are on Indie games. Which surprised myself quite a bit, our most popular curations are of Antihero and Desert Bus VR. These stats allow us to see which games you guys enjoy seeing and allow us to choose the best games to evaluate for inclusion on our recommended lists.

The final inclusion is what would seem to be the most relevant to you our audience which are Liste. Allowing us to catalogue games in categories. Currently we plan on making selected lists for Steam Sales of what we think are the best deals. On our current page however we have eight lists and we’d like to hear feedback on what additional lists you guys want. Also in the next coming days I will finish the lists for review copy disclosure.

The Autumn Sale has begun and with it we bring you some recommendations on what might be worth picking up. As always we have our three constant categories of AAA, Indie and Value this time around our two extras are Timesink and Strategy without further delay let’s highlight the Steam Autumn Sale 2016.


Deus Ex is one of my favorite games released this year and while Breach is somewhat of a throwaway the main campaign is worth playing. With some of the best level design I have seen in quite a long time as well as new augmentations. Deus Ex is a choice you probably won’t regret. Take your time to do the side missions though as they are just as interesting as the main game.

AAA Runner Up: DOOM


Independent games usually do one of two things: they do something that is rarely done ever or play to nostalgia. Stardew Valley is the latter. While the discount isn’t as great as it could’ve been even at full price Stardew Valley is a steal.

Indie Runner Up: Ark: Survival Evolved


Timesinks are games that you can spend hundreds upon hundreds of hours into without quite realizing it. Put on your favorite podcast and travel the stars with Elite: Dangerous. A massive world with trades to make, systems to explore and pirates to take down it is massively calming and can provide action if you’re looking for it.

Timesink Runner Up: Rocket League


Strategy games can be complex with a harsh barrier of entry or they can be accessible but lack some depth. Stellaris accomplished making a complex strategy game without that harsh barrier of entry. If you’ve played some Starcraft or Civilization you will likely pick this up fairly easily.

Strategy Runner Up: Civilization V


The almost undisputed Game of the Year of 2015 for 30$ or 40$ if you want all the DLC. With hours upon hours of gameplay in one of the most gorgeous game worlds ever created. I think that’s pretty well the definition of value.

Value Runner Up: The Elder Scrolls Online
