This is where babies become Guardians!

Hey all,

This Saturday, 12/11/2021, will be the first event we have hosted with the new Steam Group for the clan! How the event will work is as follows:

Guardians and clan members will form into teams of three (3). Teams of one (1) or two (2) are allowed, but you will be sorely at a disadvantage. Once teams are formed, please go to the "Grasp of Avarice Teams" discussion and have one member of your team list the Bungie names of each of the people in your Team. I will have created an example in the discussion. You have until the even starts to form teams.

Teams are permitted to strategize and practice as much as they want or deem necessary before Saturday. The name of the game: speed. All teams will begin their clears at the same time, and the first team to complete the dungeon (while following all race rules) will be named the victors! The winning team will receive a special Discord role to showcase their achievement.

As mentioned above, there are rules that must be followed for the run to be considered legitimate. These rules are as follows:

1. No skip-related cheeses or glitches. If a glitch is found by Saturday that allows for skipping of large portions of the dungeon, using said glitch will disqualify the team from the competition.

2. No substitutions once the race has begun. Once teams have begun clearing the dungeon and the timer is ticking, no team members can be swapped out for another member.

3. With the exception of lag outs, bugs, and disconnects related to connection or the game itself, the fireteam may not return to orbit. Once the run has begun, each team must complete it in one go to be considered in contention for the prize.

Things that ARE allowed:

- Using cheeses that do not allow for skipping parts of the dungeon.
- Creating strategies that result in faster clears of the dungeon.
- Utilizing dungeon mechanics to expedite your run of the dungeon.
- Wearing socks.

Special note: originally it was said that you must be in the Steam group to be eligible for prizes. We would like to make a small change to this due to the large number of console players in the clan: console players can be a part of the race if they are on a team with a clan member who is in the Steam group. At least one (1) player must be in the Steam group, and ALL players who are playing on Steam must be in the group.

The event will begin at 6:00 PST / 9:00 EST on Saturday.
