MLPlounge Civ V Group

Alright, time to discuss the details.

I've never done Civ V multiplayer, so I don't know if we need to run a server or how order works for picking civilizations or setting up a game or anything. Bear with me.

The eight players are myself, CraftD, badjokemostlikely, Honest_Applejack, tanithghost88, Ilonis, supermatt314, and Silversun88.
Game starts at 2pm EST tomorrow, Saturday the 31st of March.

If there's a conflict in the civilizations people want, the order for picking is BJML, Ilonis, tanith, AJ, supermatt, Silversun, Craft, and finally me.
Right now, Craft wants Arabia, BJ wants Japan, AJ wants Rome, and I can't decide between Egypt, China, or Greece. Matt and tanith say they don't care what they get.

I'll be streaming the entire thing on my livestream channel, and Matt says he'll be doing the same. Don't watch our livestreams... I mean, that's kinda a ♥♥♥♥ move.
In addition, I'll be spending the day in Pathogen-David's mumble server. Server is applebloom.pathogenstudios.com, port is 64738.

The game will be set to Quick, with Standard map size. City-state numbers will be default. All terrain options will be randomized.
Even with a quick game, this is going to take a while. If you've got any obligations on Saturday, let us know so we can plan around them or take a break or something. With any luck, this won't last until Sunday, but it is a possibility. We can always break and reschedule if that happens; we'll discuss it when we come to it.

Now, I've seen some talk about Domination victories and just wanted to touch on that real quick.
They're all fine and good, but the goal here should be having fun, not obliterating the opposition.
A Domination victory means you take the enemy's capital. That means that if you take their capital and leave them the rest of their cities, you'll still win. And leaving them the rest of their cities means that player's still in the game. Sure, they can take back their original capital... but if you kill them outright, they're out. If that happens one hour in, they miss out on all the rest of the event. I know I wouldn't be too happy about that.
Basically, use some discretion. You can annihilate someone if it's really necessary, but for most cases let's just aim to have fun and not boot anyone early.
