Interesting question. I'm not sure I know the right answer. Lying is always wrong but I think in some situations it may be necessary.

For instance during WW2 when people were hiding the jews they lied and said they didn't know any or know where they were. Do we tell the truth in this situation and give them up, or do we lie and protect their life? I think the obvious answer is to protect the life but some may disagree.

No, they shouldn't lie to their children ever, not just in this case. Nor should they tolerate when their children lie, even when they are little and it looks "cute".

Thanks God for putting this in my path of confusion. IMO the enemy definitely created religions to confuse us. Maybe keeping our-self united and holy is the way God wants us to be.

That verse is not talking about 2-3 gathered together already being the church. Read the context carefully.

That's exactly true - everyone will say their denomination is best, and that's fair, I mean why would I be a baptist if I thought that there was something better :)
Then again, I do not put denomination at the top, Jesus is on the throne and nothing else.

Well it's not an easy answer as in go to X or Y. Even though I am a baptist there's plenty Baptists churches that I would not recommend. In the end I would advise to read your Bible, pray, keep on growing in your relationship with Jesus and in your understanding, obey what you learn in Scriptures, and trust God to lead you.

Maybe, you ought to put your trust where it belongs, in God. No princes, just a suggestion.

First of all the person to whom this response was given wasn't suggesting otherwise. I noticed that some of you are taking this kind of thinking to the extreme, it becomes a false dichotomy. What do I mean. Let me give an example: "Jesus is the bread of life so maybe you should put your trust where it belongs. Not in physical bread, just a suggestion." Take it to extreme and it becomes: "If you spend time making sure you have bread to eat you are not putting your trust in God". But that is nonsense. Can we sin in craving for physical blessings rather than Jesus, sure, but at same time wanting for something that God made us to want(and not just want but we need it to live) is not just not wrong but good, it glorifies God. Of course we have to want for God first and foremost. So now let's go back to princes and politics. God instituted authorities to govern us, so to want to have a good(or at least better) government is not bad it is actually good. Just don't put the president or what ever other authority over God. And that is what most of the posts were about, and that's what Gray matter was saying too. That is why I decided to respond to this kinda harsh response to him. Do not take it to extremes, Bible is a very balanced book, it does not pit God and His creation against each other, it shows how we can glorify Him in this world through His creation.

I recommend a book by Joe Rigney, Strangely Bright: Can You Love God and Enjoy This World? If you don't want to buy it you can listen to it on canonplus for free(you have to have subscription, but they let you have one month free before paying money).

Now on topic - I live on the other side Atlantic, so I do not know much, I do watch and listen to american pastors who do not shun from political matters though. He is definitely a ways better than Harris(or any other democrat nowadays), but he's not a christian and not even some old school republican. Still thank God for mercy on US at least for a few more years(Hopefully, never know what might happen).
