Shutting Down Rust Server For Good ??

Since it was constantly getting attacked when streamers would play on it , no one really plays on the server anymore , so i feel like im paying 50 bucks a month for nothing , so i am prob going to let it expire and not renew the server.

Unless People convince me otherwise?

Last night at around 11pm GMT, we updated your Rust server. Following that update, we’ve started to notice a very large memory leak in the server code which is causing busier servers to actually restart. As you can see from the image below, the difference before and after the update is clear, with the server eating up a huge amount of memory.



Usually with an issue like this, we’d just raise the limits slightly to reduce the number of server restarts, but this leak is so huge that we can’t possibly do that. Fortunately, when Clanforge restarts a server it forces a save of the world, so you shouldn’t lose any server data due to this issue.

We’ve contacted the developers Facepunch about this issue who have confirmed that they’re working on a fix, and will patch this memory leak as soon as they can.

Right now Ashley is working with the server provider to explore options on this DDoS attack that is effecting the server.

At this time we're not sure if its our server being attacked or all servers being attacked on the IP we share with other owners.

These attacks are affecting machines in several locations and are changing regularly, so we can't keep an up to date list of machines on here. However if you're getting errors like this in ClanForge it's quite likely your machine is affected.

We have identified the type of attack and we are getting our data centers to add more filters to stop the attacks from affecting your services."
