Bug Hunt with TemplarGFX Mod
I played my first ever Bug hunt game and it was a bit janky and eventually crashed. What settings do people recommend? Or should I remove the mod entirely?

Hi there mate,
- Just for info', your post has been moved to the A:CM | Modding Discussions section here -
Then, yeah a lot of crash issues with such mods. Honestly, except maybe for graphics & lighting improvements, Bug Hunt doesn't need this gameplay & difficulty overhaul for the simple reason that Bug Hunt is already a kind of official modification / overhaul of the A:CM base game. The way BH moves, the improved* melee, the metagame (there's one this time), the way more aggressive AI (you don't need the Super Xeno Fighters II Turbo overhaul, damn so a such artificial diff' change) & often smarter than people think, and more. Unlock then try the Armat M3 Lightweight Boby Armor & the Gunslinger Trait (which you can't use in the campaign) and enjoy.

( * ) Even the badass PvE melee if you play Apone, Drake, or Hudson (not only skins), characters not included in the digital A:CM copies, but sweet characters that were included in all the hard copies, worldwide. And, again, content you can't play in the Campaign(s) but in Bug Hunt & Classic Multiplayer only.

So free will, choice is yours, TemplarGFX's work on lighting is really amazing (for all modes), on gameplay and "difficulty" is interesting for the Campaign. We all respect his awesome work. He did his possible with the available modding tools but, for Bug Hunt, we do not recommend it at all. A lot of Bug Hunt lovers uninstalled it for all those reasons. Too many peeps using vanilla version (I'm part of these) can't sadly play decentlywith other folks using that mod'. Unreadable action, broken animations, crashes... And we don't need to be more devided.
We really don't.

Sorry for posting in the wrong section (I don't use Steam forums very often)

Thanks for the quick reply. I think I'll downgrade to the vanilla version for mine and everyone else's enjoyment. Very much looking forward to being part of this community.

Is there an easy way to tell if you've removed the mod without a complete delete and reinstall?

About the post location, no worries mate, just saying, so you'll be able to find it easily again.
Concerning the community, kinda small but kinda nice, glad to know you're willing to reach peeps. If you pay attention to Steam Groups contents and Steam Add Requests ( to receive & to send ), you'll have a bloody good time in-game.

And about the uninstall of that mod', oh dear, my side, no idea sorry. I tried V4 two years ago, uninstallted it 20 min lalter. It f*cked my Steam Client Bootstrapper up ( not really mod's fault, more mine I guess lol ) but on the current PC, lol, never again. That being said, on a second PC later, I might install the V5 ( or other versions in the future ) in order to use TemplarGFX mod' in order to be able to play with peeps using that mod' on Bug Hunt. And who knows, in order to play campaign again with that overhaul. Not played campaign since 2013, even in Vanilla version lol.

So, better ask TemplarGFX via the official Steam A:CM forums.

I played some campaign with a guy who didn't speak great English earlier, he had to leave very quickly (I hope it wasn't because of me). After I had verified the Steam files, for all intents and purposes the mod seemed to have removed. The game ran fine from what I could see, besides the cross-contintental lag (Unless it was really laggy for him, I was the host). Would be good to play with someone from Europe to test it soon.

Greetings Folks, what's up?
Sometimes, mods users literally f*ck some Bug Hunt games up.
So, for the comfort of everyone ( Vanilla players and mods players ), new stuff in Group Chat.

For information, in the Group Chat, a channel dedicated to A:CM mods users has been created.

Players using mods really need to play together. Which means only with A:CM mods users.
In a Bug Hunt team, if someone is using a mod' not used by the other players ( other players playing Vanilla Bug Hunt like I do or players simply using another mod' or players using maybe same mod' but a different version ), a lot of issues are ahead. Even if that user is not the host.

Crash, invisible doors, impossible to interact with welded ( even unwelded* ) doors, and more.
( * ) When the undo for the welder mod' is available or when it simply works lol.

Anyways, A:CM modding (in general, which means TemplarGFX's mod and all other mod's born since 2013) are cool for the campaign but not a all for Bug Hunt, definitely.
