South African Expeditionary Forces

ABOUT US:

The SAEF was established as a South African ArmA 3 community who want to play ARMA seriously without losing the "fun factor". Our focus is more towards good cooperation and sound team work during missions rather than strict military protocols and procedures. Saying that, we do try and keep to simple radio protocols and maneuvers where possible and leave the "horse play" for before and after missions ;)

There is no induction process, the only requirement is that you are above 18, mature and have our mods (We do allow younger players to join but they are evaluated on a individual base). Before joining one of our custom missions you will need to go through a quick introduction to our mods. We have no rank structure, but assigned squad leaders, fire team leaders and mission commanders will be the privilege of active members in the community.

We allow any language and nationality but during missions we primarily speak English for the sake of mission cohesion and members sanity ;) Our community strives to be mature and respected.

Our current mission focus is on coop gameplay but we also organise the occasional PvP nights to mix things up.

SERVER EVENTS:

Organised missions are hosted on the following nights:

Tuesdays @ 20:00 hrs
Thursdays @ 20:00 hrs

Our server is only password protected on mission evenings.

ADDON REQUIREMENTS:

Our server runs a large assortment of Mods and we recommend using Steam Workshop to subscribe to all our mods.

You will also need Team Speak since we don’t use the ARMA voip:

HOW TO JOIN:

You can just add one of the members as a friend on steam and he will invite you to one of our session or you can e-mail the clan at the following e-mail: arma3saef@gmail.com. One of the admins will contact you as soon as possible.

NOTE: We aren't informed when new members join the Steam Group. Please message one of the admins or e-mail us directly for help and invites to the missions, alternatively join our discord as it is our most used communication platform. You might slip under the radar if you just hang around the steam group.

SAEF - Looking for new Admins

Hey everybody,

It is with melancholy that we announce that one of our Admins is stepping down from his Admin duties to pursue his studies. This leaves us the with unfortunate task of locating a new admin or some new admins to assist with mission creation, server maintenance, and assistance with the rent cost of the server.

It is to be noted that you do not need to know exactly how to create missions, if you are enthusiastic and willing to learn you can start small and we will assist you in creating these scenarios. It isn't an incredibly hard skill to obtain, and if you have the time it is well worth it.

If you think you would be well suited to this then drop myself or Twakkie a message and we will set a moment to talk with you about it.

Guys massive changes to mods. So all our mods are now on Steam Workhop for your convenience. This means the following mods have been removed (will be added later if they also come to SW):
- RDS (Not needed everything is in RHS now)
- RDS, RHS Patch
- FSF Sacventral has been replaced with BackpackOnChest
- Hidden Identities Mod (I have contacted the dude to upload it on his behalf)
- Laxemanns mount (Might come to SW in future)
Pw6 and steam has been updated.

Seasons Greetings everyone. Hope you all are having a great vacation. We will resume missions mid January. Other news is that Laxemanns Immerse, Dynasound and Enhance Soundscape is now on all our repository. DS and ES are not critical mods and can be left out if you prefer.
