We are the elite dragoner of General Wellesley army.


The best cavalry regiment in Major General Sir Arthur Wellesley Army. This regiment fought in the battle of Assaye against the Marathi princes Sindhia and Berar. The British- Army with 5.000 men, 2000 cavalry and 20 cannonry fought against the 80.000 men, 20.000 cavalry and 80 cannonry strong Marathi-Army. The 19. Dragoner defended the 74. Regiment and the General Wellington against the Marathi cavalry. The 20.000 cavalry of the Marathi were beaten by only 500 men of the 19. Dragoner. So we remember our self of the great power and performance of the 19th. This men had kept very good discipline under fire of the enemy and in front of him. Later the 19. Dragoner helped to save India and protect the borders against Marathi soldier.
