Vac bans are given for cheating, nothing else. The bans are also delayed from time of detection to the ban actually being applied to the account

All vac bans are permanent and cannot be appealed against, if given in error then the system will lift the ban automatically in the near future

Click the 'info' link next to the ban notice on your profile, all of the official information is in there
