Diversity Representation in Games
Jackie Welles in Cyberpunk is an excellent representation of a Mexican in a game, he's one of a handful of Hispanic characters in video games who stands out because he respectfully portrays the culture he belongs to. He embodies a lot of key values, such as respecting your elders, and is always willing to listen.

What are some other games that feature excellent representations of diversity?

I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY WE DIDN'T GET MORE JACKIE GAMEPLAY!

We got a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CUTSCENE MONTAGE of us doing cool ♥♥♥♥ with him instead...absolute travesty.

That cutscene montage should have been a complete chapter, like act 0 or something

Right?! :runeshock:

Night City without Jackie sure doesn't feel like Night City.. At least, Vic is still there..
Wait, so just because Jackie is hispanic that automatically makes him Mexican?

Tekken 8. I feel the developers have nailed each and every nationality displayed in that game.

Make a video game because you want to make something fun for people to play.

Not because you want to check off some equality tick box.

Gamers are already diverse.

It's not about fun.

It's about representation.

No, that's an asian game, and by default has horribly racist stereotypes, even if it doesn't. Or it's just plain horrible in some other way.

Don't ask me why, but that's what the "popular" western game bloggers keep repeating.
Why do people care about "representation" so much? I myself have a big nose (I've been teased for it several times), but I don't care about whether the characters I meet in video game have small anime-like noses or large ones. And I don't count (for statistics) the percentage of people with different noses in the game that I'm playing.

Of course, being white I could lack the experience about what (for example) black people feel.
