Steam cloud subscription service.
Noticed there’s quite a few games that no longer have cloud support. Wouldn’t mind paying a monthly subscription or even a one time flat fee for storage space, to have Steam setup their own cloud, so we can play non supported cloud games on both steam deck, and pc.

A few examples are ds2, and ds3. I understand there’s third party methods to have cloud support, but it would be safer to keep everything in house.

Steam already has it's own cloud. But Valve can't alter the games from others to have cloud support, that's entirely up to the game developers.

So valve wouldn’t legally be able to store the games save data, if the developer decided to no longer support cloud saves?

Valve can't store the save games if the game developers turn of the cloud support, correct, as Valve does not own those games and can't modify them to do so.

They provide tools for developers, it's up to the latter to use them. Or not.

Just like Tiger said, only way to get the said games to support cloud save is asking the dev to enable it, this is all free btw for both devs, and consumers on Steam, all Dev has to do it point where to look to copy said files, or copy said target files only.

Also some games has their own cloud support which is account based so it comes from dev server rather than Steam itself, it up to how Devs want to do things really either they want to have control, pass it onto the service, or not having it at all.

Well, technically one could set up one themselves by using one of the many cloud storage providers though they'd have to set the entire thing themselves manually and it would only work on the game saves they've set the cloud service to backup. This does have the advantage of having full control over the cloud saves (backup), unlike with Steam Cloud but as I said, it would require lot of manual work from user. There is also possibility of file conflict if used with game that has Steam Cloud enabled though you probably would not use the method to such games.
