Steam notification toasts not showing in-game, delayed until I exit a game. (Solved.)
EDIT: This issue seems to be fixed for me, as of the most recent Steam update.

This started about a day ago I guess. Normally you see popup notifications in the corner of the screen when certain things happen, like someone on your friend list just started a game. Now I don't get them during the game, but as soon as I exit he game, they all pop up one after another.

I have screenshots set to play a sound and show a notification, but only the sound plays, the notification gets delayed until exit just like all the others.

Under the Notifications page in Settings, I have Show Notification Toasts set to Always, and never changed it on purpose, so I don't know what's wrong. I tried changing it to other settings and then back again, didn't work either.

I also have the glitch where Library and other pages become super sluggish and unresponsive intermittently for no apparent reason. That's been for about a month, this glitch is new. I hope my Steam install isn't corrupt. I attempted all the usual things like clearing download cache and it's still like this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mine fixed itself after one of the updates, I don't think anything I did on my end helped. Sorry.

If I ever figure out what happened, I'll post about it.

I am getting this behaviour sometimes after I used Steam Big Picture mode and play a game after I switched back to normal mode. Then it can happen that notifications do not show in-game, but afterwards when I either use Alt+Tab, switch the game to windowed or exit the game. Simply restarting Steam fixes it however (until I used Big Picture again).

I am experiencing this exact issue. However, restarting Steam does not fix it for me. Not even restarting my PC does. But the behavior is exactly as you described.

This just randomly fixed itself for me today. We'll see how long this lasts...

Suffering from the same problem.. No popup notifications for party invites, friend requests, achievements, messages, etc. I have to manually open up the notification center in game to find them. This is a bunch of crap as I've missed friends inviting me or sending me a message.
