If you think the game has native support for your controller try with Steam Input disabled.
If you think the game doesn't have native support for your controller, try with Steam Input enabled.
Enable/Disable it via the per-game setting:
Right-click EAFC 25 in your Steam Library > Properties > Controller > enable or disable Steam Input from the override, then start the game
I don't own the game, perhaps it allows you to map a DirectInput controller internally.
I've played a game once that needed a different one than the standard which was loaded aswell in the past and switching to another fixed all the problems.
You go into bigpicture, select the game and go into controllersettings. At the very top it will usually show the "official button layout" since it picks that automatically for every game.
Try selecting another layout from that list. In the game I had problems in I chose a layout just titled "gamepad" and it worked.
In a hand full amount of games you are able to change it in game srttings
For some like street fighter 6 you can download a ps5 button layout mod
Also take a look in the steam controller settings
