You can finish the level without bothering killing or getting around them IIRC, but there's an achievement to kill them all; so if you're planning on 100% the achievements, well

Erm, you seem to have no problem with the spiders in Sonic.

are there any other spiders? or is it just that one is it only in 1 map / lvl of the game or are they everywhere

You avoid them because they're invulnerable, until you get a super ramp, then you can charge through them. They're all in one tunnel of that map. They're also not spiders. They're images on a screen, digitally rendered, artificial in every sense. They're just another baddie that drops treasure in a game about busting baddies and collecting treasure. Why convince yourself that there is any potential danger? Just bust them with a super charge like you do everything else in the game. It's just the same as with every other enemy. No difference whatsoever.

spyro 1 has the most bs spiders ever

There's also "spider town" level where you shoot some spiders dead as Sparx

Spyro 1: High Caves (Magic Crafters World)
Spyro 2:... Can't remember
Spyro 3: The first flight level [green/black], & a Sparx level

I need to re-record the Trilogy at some point, as I no longer have my original gameplay videos. Then I should be able to figure out every single level with Spiders in, as my memory is a bit flaky at the moment.

Oh yeah also that ice level with cavemen in spyro 2 had some green spider-like enemies, you had to kill fast before they multiply
