Over the past few months, we asked the community to spotlight some Playgrounds for us to showcase. Thanks to the community, they have delivered 3 amazing Playgrounds to check out.

How to defend against final boss?

I'm referring to Infected Broodmother. I've mastered Phase 1 and 2 to the point that it's child's play. The second Phase 3 rolls up, I die almost instantly to one specific move - rapid slashes. When she does the fastest variation, I basically go from 100-0. Is this thing even parryable in full? I can get the first hit and the last hit, but the ones in between feels like my character can't keep up. Do I gotta resort to using a shield? Im currently using full Fire Ant and Sour Battleaxe. I'm using the attac...

Halloween Time:

The Scarecrow building is now available for purchase in the Science Shop (through October only!)
The porch Jack-o-Lantern properly shows up when loading a world that was started prior to October.

Pet Baby Ants Buffs:

Red Ant Pet: Bonus hauling capacity increased from 10 to 15.
Black Ant Pet: Damage resist increased from 10% to 50%.
Fire Ant Pet: +10% Acid damage changed to +25% all damage.

REMIX.D Yard - Changes:

Sour Orb Infusion
- Dramatically Reduced AOE Damage
- Removed the Stun from the AOE Attack
  - If the Sour Orb Attack hits you directly it will still do high damage and stun
- Sour Orb attack can be Perfect Blocked
Creature damage scaling reduced from 40% to 20% per REMIX.D level.

Playgrounds:

Additional items that can only be found in REMIX.D yards can be placed in Playgrounds Mode.

Bug Fixes:

Koi Armor Set bonus defense down effect works correctly against creatures resistant to “Acid” status effects.

Review after 100% solo play

I thought this game was for kids at first then I got the living sh** scared out of me by a spider 1 hour in.

Honestly though, this was one of my first actual survival games and Grounded did not disappoint. The base-building was great, the exploration was unique, and the environments were straight out of Honey I Shrunk the Kids.

The combat is actually tough, but once you get that perfect parry down the seemingly hard encounters become a lot more doable. At least, until you get into late game, then you better have farmed resources to craft specific armor sets to combat different bosses or they will take you down ferociously. That brings me to another point, you have to farm for resources, A LOT. Luckily this can be done hand in hand with exploration and hunting other achievements but man it can get tiresome. For example, I can't tell you how many times I would have to zipline down to the pond to grab more resources because I ran out.

Oh yeah, and you don't unlock ziplines until mid to late game so you're stuck on foot for the entirety of the beginning. A bit time consuming to say the least. AND you don't unlock two-way ziplines until late-game so you have to farm resources to build all these ziplines for half of them to just become irrelevant in the end game. I digress.

The minor annoyances of time wastes weren't enough to deter me from enjoying the game. My heart would literally jump out of my chest when I would hear the sound of a Wolf Spider coming at me.. or even worse.. an infected Wolf Spider. This game gave little adrenaline rushes that you would never expect and that's why I still highly recommend it.

Giving this one an 8/10. Points deducted mainly because of the grindiness/time-wasters built into the beginning of the game. I'm sure this game would be great at Co-Op with friends. I just don't have any

There is so much more to this game than it seems. So much, that I have come back to it over and over. Highly recommend.

i allways discover build and make something new! i recommend it but watch out for the big spiders they are dangerous oh and just to help out a little in your little adventure ur weapons u craft can block so when its about to attack u can block oh and just for fun this game is amazing

Pollen Arrows are useless?

What is the point of these? By the time you can fire again the flyer is, once more, flying. The stun duration is horribly brief and it doesn't force the flying enemies to stay on the ground for the duration of the debuff it puts on them making them pretty much useless in my experience. They're bad on bow and worse on xbow due to reload speed....

Welcome to the spooky edition of the Playgrounds Showcase for October! We have some scary Playgrounds for you to check out this Halloween season! Will you be able to escape Granny’s House? How about escaping the Mines? Will you survive the haunted forest in Spooky Mystery? Let’s dive in!

Up first we have Granny's House by IZ BURG L. After a car crash, you find yourself at Granny's house. As you approach the house, you get knocked out by a mysterious figure and awaken in a strange and dark room. The goal is to survive for 5 days and escape from Granny’s House. There are tons of puzzles to solve and mysteries to uncover. Be careful though, there are some creepy monsters hunting you down. Try to get all 4 endings and change the difficulty for a more challenging experience!

Just killed one of the bosses and have a question about it

I just killed the Mantis after about 10 attempts. Despite winning, this fight pissed me off since it felt hella unfair. I had to basically run away like a puss the entire time and bait attacks. Does this boss have straight up unblockable abilities? I swore I was perfectly timing parries on the scream and the super jump move and those had a 100% hit rate on me. Is this just a skill issue or are these moves just busted? Funny thing about this fight is that I was expecting an equal headach...

Tips for where/when to build a base?

Still early on, just met BURG.L in the oak tree, but I'm having trouble finding a good place to build a base. It seems like the ground is too uneven, too many curves, lumps, roots in the way of things like fences and walls. Am I expected to build on uneven ground? Should I look harder for flat spaces? Or should I progress a little further?...

Am I doing this fight wrong?

I just got to the Black Widow and she is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me up. I've died to her for about 5 hours straight with no progress in sight. If I am not parrying her like a Sekiro God, it's curtains; her poison brings me down to like 20%. I am using the Antlion Greatsword since she resists all my other weapons. I can't go back to my base since my stuff is in her chamber and I can't find a way back up where I came since I jumped in the pit. Am I boned?...
