Wheel Traction (Friction) and more
I just want to know if the wheels / tracks ever get any better. I'm all the way to the race missions on single player campaign and every wheel I have unlocked drives like my vehicle is on ice. I'm I missing something? There is almost no friction on anything I put on my vehicles and they slip and slide everywhere I go... including just from mission point to mission point. Not to mention all the stupid rocks everywhere that you get hung up on if you even look at them. This game is by far the worse game I've played when it comes to building and driving vehicles. Please improve the wheels at least. Because of that I can't even make it through the race (which is really more like a crash up derby with weapons) than a race. My first vehicle I made was wood (light and fast) and I quickly went back to a fully armored tank. Not much of a race. Can't even go around corners without sliding across the track and slamming into walls.
Also on a side note, I didn't see where there is any difficulty settings but it seems that every mission I do I'm up against enemies that are not only better equipped but also multiples of them. One mission I tried to do, 3 air ships appear out of thin air directly above me and destroy my whimpy (budget maxed) vehicle in seconds. I did all the tutorials so I get how the game works but I'm open to suggestions. Several missions I just gave up on because with the low budgets and crappy unlocks there isn't much to work with. I haven't rated it yet but it's not looking good so far.

The track on the second mission is deliberately slippery, due to heavy rain. To complete the race missions, you need to slow down when you reach a turn and then boost as much as possible when you clear the corner. It might be easier to do with a vehicle that has its center of mass close to the ground (you can enable center of mass display in Build Mode). We played one of the race missions on stream, you can check out the VOD to see what kind of vehicle was able to beat one of the stages:

You can rewind the footage to see how this vehicle was constructed.

You can also complete sidemissions to increase your build limit and earn more parts.

In regards to your vehicle getting stuck on terrain: you can press the * button to reorient your vehicle. If you're not in combat, you can also enter a build mode and shift+WASD to move your machine away.

I watched your video and noticed that the person driving (I assume is a developer) had a tough time controlling his vehicles as well. I did most of the side mission and have about the same equipment/budget as the person in the video had. Maybe slightly less because I gave up on a couple of them because some were just too hard to complete. The example I already gave was the one with 3 airships that show up and destroy me in seconds.
I have a suggestion for you since this game just came off early access and I see that a developer responded (which is cool that you did BTW  ).
How about when a person chooses any mission you have the option to do easy, normal, hard and maybe "extreme" and then the more difficult you choose the more reward (budget/unlocks). I personally gave up on some of the side missions after attempting multiple times. I got frustrated and I'm sure many others will too. I think that would make for better game play if you gave us options like drop down to easy if it's too difficult (less enemies / weaker enemies, etc).
Back to the wheels. I understand the rainy, slippery roads causing traction issues but I think the wheels need more friction throughout the entire game. They slide around on dry ground too. Even the tracks, which have much more surface area then wheels, slide around too much. Tracks should be slower speed limits but better traction than wheels. They are meant for off-road applications.
Also it's not just sliding around turns, they spin out and you sit there waiting for them to finally get you moving and they don't allow for much traction climbing hills or going over rough ground. That also makes it frustrating when you are trying to maneuver and you slide down a hill and sit there at the bottom spinning your wheels because it won't climb back up. I think if the handling is improved then the game play will also improve.

Thank you for your reply and for the kind words! There are bigger wheels and tracks unlocked later in the campaign, it should be easier to navigate rough terrain with these - you can check them out in Creative Mode. In regards to friction of smaller wheels/tracks, we'll look into it. Modifying physics is difficult, even a tiny change can cause serious errors so it's not an easy fix but we'll try.

We'll look into the difficulty settings of individual missions based on your feedback. Can you specify, which mission spawned the 3 airships that destroyed your vehicle? A rough estimate will do, for instance, what were the previous missions leading up to the overly difficult one?

Thanks for considering my suggestions. I will redo the campaign and take a video of the mission in question. I can't go backwards on my current one. Once I get back to it. I'll upload the video for you to check out.

I made a video to show the mission that I had trouble beating but I actually beat the mission in the video. I also mentioned a few other things with the game during the video. I'm not much into doing videos but please check it out and see.
