Is there any progression, unlock, upgrade system in the game?

i have no idea if youre paying attention to this any more, but i really loved your game. it's got some unique ideas, re:executions in shumps. it is absolutely criminal that project aether has been mostly overlooked, going by the number of reviews on steam i hope all of you went on to bigger and better things, because you made an amazing, if obscure, game...

i just began playing and when I complete a mission nothing happens. My mech floats and I'm unable to move it and the Mission Complete banner is displayed on the screen. No buttons bring me to the mission select screen and I have to shift-tab and close the program. My score registers just fine and it looks as though its registering that I actually played the mission but there is no rank displayed under my score. Is there something I'm missing here?...

If the player does not select any mission and tries to launch, the game will load forever. After ending a mission, the game will get stuck on the mission complete banner.
