crashes on launch

when i open the game it loads up fine, but when it gets to the screen where the menu is supposed to pop up it crashes.

Mr. Swimmington doesn't work?

I bought Mr. Swimmington, which is supposed to cut your health down but give you 5 lives, however when I died fighting a boss it was just game over. I've had 2/9ths feline work to respawn me on the same level, but Swimmington seemed to give me nothing. Do extra lives not count on boss levels or something? ...

PLEASE ADD VSYNC OR FRAME LIMIT

I love this game so far but it's rendering a lot of unnecessary frames. This would be the first additional option I would add to the options menu besides a music slider and possibly other graphical options besides a global preset. Thank you for making it free to keep...
