It was scary for all of us. Just grind and playing repeatedly will solve your problem. Take it slow. 😊

What's scary to you? I can offer more advice if you have any specific concerns!
Because if has to do with jumpscares or the fear of what's coming up, you could watch videos briefly and see what'll happen next!

You could also buy infinite ammo guns too that could help - ofc that costs money unfortunately - though you can unlock infinite ammo weapons after you beat the game.

Save often too, that way you don't fear of losing progress

But just go at your pace and do what makes you comfortable and enjoy yourself

play a youtube video or music in the background

Try the assisted difficulty. I doubt it's scary at all.

This right here helped me a lot with the first remake. The trick is to play songs (or even a podcast) that you feel could be unobtrusive and put them at a lower volume than the game's background music.

If you happen to have the classic OST, it's more "action" packed and help alivianate the fear even further.

Don't give up, you'll beat the game eventually :lunar2019piginablanket:
have something playing in the background maybe, like a youtube vid or sum. thats what I used to do when i was new to horror games and it rlly helped me be able to enjoy them! :D goodluck

I don't know, but if you want to make it even more scary, buy the original soundtrack swap if you don't have it already, and play it with that.

I kinda just learned to live with it. And a major factor being, that it's ok to die and get attacked. My first time playing it and it being the first RE I've ever played, it was very scary. Now I just run around with barely a care in the world. With a bit of a mental like "F you B" "a0hole" "this mo-fo" as I kill and get attacked.

Maybe part of it is that I played the first hour of Leon 3-4 times over 2 years, because I kept restarting it and was getting comfortable. (losing track of how to play and where I was and what I was doing)

Sorry to be the one pointing this out but if you find a game that is supposed to be scary well... scary why do you even play it? I will never understand people that want X but do Y and then complaint why Y cant be more like X. Maybe you will have a better time playing action adventure games or something more relaxing and vanilla.

Where's the complain? random player (OP) was asking for help, that's all.
Besides, the point of playing a horror game is to get scared at first but overcoming your fears and master it in the end. It's just that some take more than others and hell if RE2R isn't worth the effort.

I didn't expect there are so many people that really think listening to an alternative soundtrack to be the solution, though. There's a reason that there are no square circles. If that's the solution, then why play it? You may as well not.

There's a spanish quote that goes "every person is their own universe" :lunar2019piginablanket:. I have even read people saying that they play solely on mute because sound it's not important to them... Very odd, I know lol.

Although just to clarify: playing with a second source of noise should be a last resort because it could (and will) hurt the experience. It's the same with using the original OST over the remake's, as it's not the intended design.
Stream it and we'll cheer you on lol. Seriously though, maybe have a friend hang out with you while you're playing or something. It would be a shame to miss out on this game due to the fear factor.
