Comparison to Master of Orion

This is actually a question. Thinking about getting this game and the other Starcom game. How much are they like the old Master of Orion games? I take it there's no demo out for either Starcom game?

I remember playing MOO3. If you want something like that, Stellaris is a good choice.

If you're looking for something free that is similar to this, there should be a free-to-download version of Star Control 2 on on SourceForge. It's called Ur-Quan Masters. That is way closer to this game, plus it's fun. Or you can buy the official version on Steam for $4.

P.S. If you decide you really like Star Control 2, Star Control Origin is also fun. Do NOT buy Star Control 3, or any of the extras for Star Control Origin. They suck.
