Help in storm

Please can someone help me. What do I do in a storm? My boat was destroyed cause of the waves. I haven't a clue how to prevent it

Turn into the waves if you can't out run it. Head on. Never side or back waves. Good luck. This game is so buggy, it's almost unplayable.
