North 3 Prometheus star is killing me

I’ve seen a few threads complaining about this. I’m playing on a Steam Deck and am trying to 100% each level as I progress through. All the others have been fine so far, but the Prometheus star in the Lost Marshes is killing me. I just cannot get the second platform jump over the water (the first jump is easy). I’ve tried dozens of times and just fall in the water. The play-through I watched seemed to move faster and jump further than I can? Is this something that needs a PC and a keyboard? Or am I just too uncoordinated to time it right? I really seriously hate platform-style nanosecond timed movements in thinking/puzzle games. Is there some magic technique I’m missing? I’m holding the controller stick forward to sprint as I jump, but I still can’t do it :-(

Its a pretty easy jump. If you're not moving fast enough to make it, something is wrong with your sprint button or your control stick.

On PC you can sprint by holding down controller button RB while moving. To reach the second platform, you need to jump while sprinting. So start sprinting and then press button A to jump but without releasing RB. I guess it works similar on Steam Deck.

OK thanks, at least i’m not missing something. I originally thought this was a tease and not actually possible without some hidden switch or something. If I hadn’t come here I’d still be looking for another way to get to it. Guess I’ll just have to persevere. Maybe a keyboard makes it easier, I dunno. For some reason I’m finding it really hard to make the jump with both the Steam Deck controls and an Xbox controller. I’ll give it a rest for now and try again tomorrow.
