Your level editor clearly shows intent to have more than two players in a single scenario/map, and yet still we can only create maps for 2 players. Despite randomised city locations and resources clearly being possible, this isn't catered for in custom maps. These two things alone would give huge longevity to the game, were clearly intended features, and simply aren't implemented; instead your resources are being devoted to remaking the same game (wasting your time and efforts) with a new set of eras.
If RC2 is essentially RC with these additional features and an expanded range of eras to explore in transportation, then quite simply people shouldn't be paying again for it; or it should be a free update with an eras DLC that can be priced how you like - at least then you've met the original expectations of the game you already released. If it's a technical limitation that you can't implement the aforementioned features, then at least remove annoying indications of missing functionality from the editor.
Sad to say, with the above being said I won't be looking to purchase RC2 unless it's significantly different enough to RC that it warrants it's development; in which case you might as well call it a completely different game rather than a sequel.
Were all those features you want promised somewhere by devs? I was not looking at development but from my point of view game is more than complete and I'm not expecting any updates at all. Especially for that price, which (when on sale, which happens quite often) is like 8-10 times less than ♥♥♥♥ like this https://gtm.you1.cn/storesteam/app/1696810/RAILROADS_Online/
Maybe I have not played it enough (25 hrs now and maybe 10 more in offline mode) to see all it's downsides, but from what I know this game goes into good games like Rimworld, Prison Architect, ONI, Don't Starve and others, which I will happily buy if they release some DLC or V2 (well, except PA, since it's broken by Paradox now)
I didn't even have time to play the first
No, thanks. Unfollow, deleted from Wishlist.
Either way the only way i'll buy this is if/when it's on sale.
The devs stated (and continue to state on the store page) "play with your friends" - which implies more than "play with a friend" (singular). In addition, the map editor even includes "player 3", "player 4" tags; implying that it certainly was their intent to include that and they simply haven't - ergo my comment on unfinished. And if not including it then don't keep that content in the editor, making people believe that it might be implemented in future when the devs are clearly moving on.
As previously noted, there's not a lot in terms of downsides with this game, it's a very good game, but it's so close to being spot on that it's disappointing to see what will amount to small changes leading to the game being redeveloped from scratch (wasting the devs' times) and then being sold again at a higher price. It makes it feel like RC was just an experiment to see if it would work, then they're going to work on a proper version after and sell that instead.
If there's a technical reason the rewrite is necessary then I get that, but they've already implemented things that would make RC complete; they just need the support from their publisher to actually make those final changes to bring them all together, and not have to sell the game again to justify it.
Thanks for response. I see, this probably make sense then. Though for editor part - I don't think many players will even open it, so most of playerbase will probably be satisfied like me and will still buy RC2, which make sense for devs to move on to it.
Otherwise, I love the game, I will probably buy the next one.
Also, is there a way it can work on Win8 at least? Or ma-a-aybe it possible on Win7? At least not officially. I mean, no hardcoded restrictions as many do.
As the game is still in development, there might be changes in signals work, after we get more feedback about them.
As for Win7 and Win8, closer to release we will check again compatiability. There is a chance, that it will be possible to ran at Win8. As for Win7 I'm a bit skeptical.
Just another trump inspired rip of.
I will never be wasting my money on another game when these pricks use their game bugs as excuses to charge 40+ dollars to fix their ♥♥♥♥ code,
give me my money back so i do not get any racketeering messages from these thieves please.
What exact bugs are you taking about?
