Game doesn't start anymore when DX12 is enabled. Worked perfectly fine until today.
I played 17 hours so far. Last time I played was 3 days ago. Today I wanted to get back into the game but it doesn't start anymore when DX12 is enabled.

The Game Launcher starts just fine but when I try to launch the actual game it shows a black screen. Then it quickly minimizes the window and when I open it up again it waits a second then shows Program has stopped working.

It's really bewildering to me because I didn't change anything on my PC.

try disabling exclusive full screen mode in launcher settings.

Thanks but it was never in exclusive fullscreen mode to begin with. I already flicked every switch in the launcher but the only thing that works is disabling DX12. Which is a shame because I want to keep playing in HDR

Bringing this back up because I'm having the same problem even though I played the game before many times, also the launcher doesn't even show up

I had something like this happen. Try downgrading the graphics in the game launcher, if you can get to the launcher. I had to reduce the texture quality to Very High to get the game to run (something similar happened with Rise of the Tomb Raider)

Forgot to mention that I solved the problem, had nothing to do with graphics, it was the launcher conflicting with Windows Defender. I went to the Windows Defender tab in settings, and chose the steam folder as allowed in the ransomware protection, (you can alternatively just disable it)

Makes sense that Defender is the cause of this, since you didn't change anything. This is why I always install games and Steam to a separate Games folder.
