i have had this problem 2 times. the first time i had to exit and restart the game 2 times for it to work, the 2nd time i only had to roll back to my last save point.

So its just luck aye kinda whack was really keen to play

it only happens sometimes. i had it ones handing in a quest and one part way into a quest. as i said, a reload or a reset fixes it

but im with you, the game isnt formatted very well and can bug our randomly

First thing I would check is that the speaker settings are correct in Windows Control Panel. Usually when this happens the game is sending 5.1 channels to stereo speakers or headphones - so the centre channel isn't being outputted and that is the channel that the voices are on.

fixed it! was my ps4 controller messing with the game sound

Tried restarting the game, no gamepad to mess with. The game just doesn't play any dialogues in cutscenes, even subtitles are not showing.

dang not sure what else you could do really just got lucky i guess but i wish you the best luck

just keep resetting till it works, thats what i had to do

yep, same here, could not get it working after trying for an hour

anyone has a fix? Downgrading to the betas 243, and dialogue works. But I'm assuming the DLCs won't be available to play. Sigh...

Changing to French also works (on the latest version of the game). This is really weird

What Jac says here helped me and seemed to be the problem. Also , go to the Audio settings in the game and make sure to select Stereo not Auto. That brought the audio back for me.

this is a working temporary workaround for now. But in my case, I need to change the voice audio to another language, apply, and re-apply English everytime I boot up the game. It's annoying, but it's playable for now
