Community events suck!
I get you're trying to get engagement with the community and inflate play numbers, but no one like community tied events!!!

Let the PLAYERS earn the trophies for themselves instead of having them tied to the playtime of others. The holiday events are something that your player base has looked forward too yearly and greatly enjoy, but now we can just sit back and let others unlock things for us. Please, stop this garbage.

The Devs mention this is the very last community event which means no community event for the Easter event.

I'd be so happy if this is true, can you please share the source?

I'm not a fan of community events either. I don't like the feeling of relying on people I don't know, only to be told 'oh don't worry you'll get it ANYWAY' - just feels bad.

The only way we can show the devs though is by not playing, only log in to collect the reward at the end. Perhaps they will get a message that this is not what the majority of the fanbase is wanting. That is if the majority is against community events.
Saeryfim 12 Dec @ 4:42pm
Yeah, considering they structured it around being able to totally miss the rewards even if you contributed a bunch... screw these stupid events.

My brain doesn't allow me to remember I'm supposed to stop back in after I've done all my credit on something already.
I'd be ok with community event rewards being like a new nametag or something, but the trophies should always be something the individual earns. Just let us feel like we accomplish something without hoping enough people played so we can get an award.
I feel this needs to be echoed....

Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback on the Blood Moon event last month. These types of Community-driven events are new to both Phasmophobia and us at Kinetic Games, and we’re learning as we go.
They are likely going to keep doing these, but their self-admitted inexperience is almost assuredly going to show for these first couple events.

Will it get better... who is to say really? They got like another five or so months before the Easter Event, plenty of time to learn from these first two events and then make conceptual changes to the community format.

EDIT: Should probably include a link to the web blog in question for those who want to read it with their own eyes... here ya go:

Or they could post everything to the platform they launched their game for. I feel this also needs to be echoed.

Eh, might be a compliance thing with one of the console platforms for all I know... either way, I don't really mind.

Like being completely honest... I've already been using web pages for information regarding Phasmos development... such as their Trello page, so it's just one more tab to keep open and/or bookmarked for later information perusal. It's honestly not a deal breaker by any means

Community events are the worst thing to happen to Phasmophobia in a while, and are the latest in a long series of anti-community actions taken by the devs. Despite repeated objections, they're just pushing them to inflate player numbers.

The worst part is that they didn't even bother to make a half-decent community event. The whole Halloween event was slow and barely moving, even with thousands of players playing... and then you had to claim the rewards? Despite no announcement mentioning that, and it never having been a thing in any previous event? The best I could find was a single, unpublished post in the community discord, which means it was never forwarded to any channel that followed it. There wasn't even an announcement to the game's community tab here on steam. 'lol ♥♥♥♥ you if you participated', I guess.

I'm really fed up with this dev team, frankly. They seem intent on just coasting on the game while it stagnates, and whenever they do take action, it's almost always worse than doing nothing.

I read it. I am still asking where is the part where they will make up for the past event Rewards not being able to be obtained with either giving them out or repeating the event?

Because it would be nice to have another chance at getting the Blood Moon Stuff after what has happened.

At this point they should be reported to Valve for neglecting the Game News Feature. /S :P

Yes that is a joke, but in all seriousness they didn't event say about extending the Blood Moon Event on Steam.

I agree and I think they should also repeat events if they are not going to give out the Trophys for those who missed out on the Blood Moon Event, because it would be nice to replay an event every now and then to at least have a chance to get the Trophy again. I don't mind the idea of different name card styles.

I would be happy to see older cards and trophys return as well. Just need to change the models to have the dates taken off.

A lot of people complained about that and missing out due to not being able to be present when the Trophy unlocked which would have been ok if it had been automatically given out. On top of that they misjudged the time with the extensions considering there was people joining the week after and asking why they didn't get rewards or the Trophy. They should have had it go on even after Thanksgiving Weekend which would have made it better. Even then just give out the rewards to those who participated at the very least as they know who participated in the events. Otherwise give them to everyone, because that is the point of a community event to start with.

I miss the old events from prior years that actually had challenges instead of just giving you a participation trophy. Make a separate section of the event challenge based where if you pass it you get idk a different fancy trophy or whatever. The last year has been just participation ones that I wasn't even interested in doing.

Yer and its going to show not that it does anyway with the old events, unless they plan to have frequent events to the point they do repeats which would be ok, because then it could give us another chance to get the rewards we missed.

The lack of communication has been my points as well. They only mentioned it on Discord and Social Media. Most people get news from Steam News which is the point of Steam.

Same they have only answered the issues around the events. They have not answered if events will at least be repeated so people get chance to get the rewards or if there could be a chance to get stuff like the Blood Moon Trophy again. Even then an acknowledgement that a majority of players still didn't get the rewards who participated in the event with a way to make up would be nice and all I ask.

Instead all the people who did nothing have been gloating about it in the Discord and being Toxic and Tolling with Rage Bait to people who bring up the issues as well as down voting feedback that disagreed with their perception of "there was no issues", while the community managers more or less just repeat what the Devs have said to them. The amount of crap I have had to deal with. I am just done.

I participated in it still couldn't get the Trophy, because of how badly managed the whole thing was.

Or post things on the discussion pages like most other developers. Imagine they had and you got your blood moon crap?

Please, please enlighten me as to what mental gymnastics you performed to pull that out? On what planet could any form of compliance, stop them from posting game news and patch notes on the platform the game came from?
