Greetings,
Thank you for reaching out to us. I am GM Efreet from the Bandai Namco Entertainment America Player Experience Team, and I'll be assisting you.
I understand that you encountered technical difficulties when trying to play SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays. I apologize as I know how frustrating it feels when the game is not running normally. Upon reviewing, I would suggest following these workarounds that may resolve this issue:
Verifying the Integrity of Game Files
Restart your computer and launch Steam.
Go to your library.
Right-click (Game) and select Manage.
Choose Properties
Select the Local Files tab.
Select Verify the integrity of game files.
Steam will verify the game's files; this process may take several minutes.
Change the application's Windows compatibility mode setting.
Launch Steam
Go to your library.
Right-click (Game) and select Manage.
Choose Properties
Select the Local Files tab.
Select Browse Local Files
Right-click on the game.exe file and go to Properties.
Under the Compatibility tab, disable full-screen optimizations.
Add or remove an app from the list of allowed apps.
Select the Start menu, type Allow an app through Windows Firewall, and select it from the list of results.
Select Change Settings. You might be asked for an administrator password or to confirm your choice.
To add an app, select the check box next to the app, or select Allow another app and enter the path for the app.
To remove an app, clear the check box next to the app, and then select OK.
Install and repair game frameworks and redistributable
Press on the following links, then download and install the right files:
.NET Framework: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download
Visual Studio 2015, 2017, and 2019: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
You can also try to install the game on a different drive.
After the provided troubleshooting steps, if the issue persists, you can send us your DxDiag Report for further review of the situation. Please be guided by the following steps in providing this:
Acquiring a DirectX Diagnostics Report:
Right-click on your Start button and click "Run".
On the dialog box that appears, type "dxdiag" (without the ""), then click OK.
Allow the program to start its process, and when it is finished, click "Save All Information".
It will ask you to create a new text file. Take note of where you are saving it and name it "DxDiag".
Attach this file to your next response in this thread.
As you mentioned that your game kept on crashing, can you go ahead and share with us the event logs for this from your Event Viewer?
Go to the Windows Start Menu.
Type Event Viewer
Right-click the Event Viewer and choose Run as Administrator.
On the left side of the window, you can view all the logs according to category.
Select the drop-down menu on Windows Logs.
Choose System
Find and click Error on the event list, copy and paste the details into a text file, and send these over to us. Alternatively, you can also provide screenshots.
Furthermore, you may share with us a video showing the issue. In line with this, please know that issues like this may take some time to get resolved and would most likely be addressed through an official fix or patch for the game.
Additionally, for complete transparency, we want to clarify that if the issue arises from a corrupted save file since it is occurring when trying to load your progress, our team does not have the ability to restore saved files directly. Typically, saved files are stored locally on your console or within your platform's cloud service.
I hope for your understanding about this matter. If you have any other concerns, please let me know. Have a nice evening.
