Ok, so according to info, Katja should have that ability around upon recruiting. Did you ensure that your save file is DLC, and not non-DLC? Did you check all of her various abilities areas?

My save file is unfortunately before installing DLC :( anyway to fix?

Yes I went in to all her available classes.

Try the following:

1. Start game. Load the save file from 'before the DLC was installed'

2. Save to another slot.

3. Load that slot.

4. Verify that the passive is there.

If that doesn't work you may need to manually edit it into your save file. You can add the following line above the stat bonuses for Katja (save a backup in case):

<bonusPassives data="BONU-P4" />

It should look something like this overall after inserting the line

<bonusPassives data="BONU-P4" />
<statsBonus data="3,0,0,0,0,0,-4" />
<name>Katja</name>

I have tried steps 1-3, doesn't work but thank you for the suggestion.

You just open the save file (My Documents / Fell Seal) in Notepad and add the info which Mechalibur mentioned.

As a side note: honestly, the DLC stuff is much better experienced on a fresher save file. If you are starting AFTER recruiting Katja, you're pretty far in the game. In some ways, if you aren't successful with your efforts here, it may just be better to start anew.

Yes I will start NG+, just completed my first run yesterday and farming up achievements.

Where can I find save files etc? sorry computer noobie here :')

I indicated the location in my comment above (My Documents / Fell Seal)

Note that starting NG+ “might” also automatically fix your issue, btw.
