Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

flickering lights behaving strangely?
my game seems to be working mostly fine, except for flickering light sources, which blink at an obscene rate and cause some weird artifacts to appear on the screen. anyone know the solution?

Are you using the Deus Ex Launcher by Kentie along with one of the custom renderers? While the game runs fine on modern systems, it doesn’t look right, the brightness slider doesn’t work, and so on. You can download them here: Deus Exe [kentie.net] Direct3D 10 renderer [kentie.net]
tried that, seems to solve a lot of graphical issues but the flickering remains. also causes the game to freeze whenever opening a menu.

Try the direct3d9 or opengl renderer from here instead: https://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/

Also, try setting the precache parameter to true in the deusex.ini file under the section where your renderer is.. That sometimes helps with the lag when opening menus (you can get to the ini file from the link at the bottom right of the launcher menu)
