How could the game complexity grow so much over time ?
After nearly 2 years of not playing the game I installed it again.

Besides losing all my previous 'levels' I was baffled by the added complexity of the game over time : even video 'tutorials' felt like a downer for the game.
For me, this took all the casual fun out of the game and I uninsttalled it.

Is it just me or are people happy with the present state of the game ? Usually I cope with complexity only when coding not when gaming.

Any replacement of HLL like it was in it's early days ?

What complexity do you believe HLL now has that it didn't in the past? Nothing about the core mechanics or gameplay has changed in years. Game is still just as shallow as it has always been

From my knowledge, very little has changed over the way the core game of HLL plays, I really just think you're overthinking it.

I used to play ingeneer for example and you could straight build an outpost...now you have to get ressources first..and so on..

Only Squad leaders can build outposts, unless you're referring to building defences, for which you have always needed supplies in order to do so.
Today I learned shooting and making garrisons is very complex.

I don't see that there was ever anything casual about HLL from the onset.

The gunplay in HLL has always been pretty casual, as has tank gameplay. HLL is not a complex game, it just has a few extra elements that aren't present in shooters like CoD and BF that players need to take an extra 10 minutes to learn is all.

Overall, it's incredibly shallow

It's just got an initially steep learning curve.

Certainly those who can't strategise (or dont even play the game) will find it shallow.

Please do enlighten me on how HLL isn't shallow. The core meta gameplay revolves around ninja garrisons to dog pile objectives. Otherwise, countering artillery is done with Recon, a boring and mindless activity that has been long complained about.

Yawn

You spend enough time here (but never in the game) so can't be that boring, some might say you're pretty much obsessed with it.

Nice deflection.

I ask again: What is it, to you, that makes HLL not shallow? Please enlighten me.

Trying to explain that to someone who never plays it will be difficult. Just glad that, even though you never play it, it has captivated you to this extreme extent.

A second deflection. Sounds to me like you can't explain the depth you believe this game has. I've already outlined how it doesn't, many times. You're more than welcome to counter that, or just continue making pointless statements about playtime.

The advanced game cannot be taught. Sorry. I have better things to do than write several paragraphs on the subject. I also think it's interesting to keep you engaged on a game you never play, certainly a peculiar behaviour I've never seen before.
