5/10 would not play again
Keeping it brief: overrated game.

Pros: the visuals are stunning, the soundtrack is lovely. If you like an "interactive narrative" kind of game, you'll probably enjoy it a lot.

Cons: the gameplay design is amateur at best. Being forced to advance while having the game always show you how you missed secrets and not letting you backtrack is frustrating (infuriating). For players like me who like to explore all the game has to offer, it really impacted my experience throughout the whole thing. If you're gonna fill your game with achievements and secret stuff, at least let us try getting them without suffering so much and forcing an unfun, nonexistent replayability.

You write about ' a nonexistent replayability' , so I was just wondering if you're aware - or not ? - that the option to revisit chapters unlocks as soon as you're through the game once.
So you can revist any part and get/try/do whatever you may have missed the first time round.
It lets you go in at many points in each chapter, so you won't have to do a lot of replaying for some small thing you might have missed...
I can understand you're feeling disappointed, if you missed that, perhaps.

I love exploring 'all a game has to offer' too, and really enjoyed it.

But, yeah, tastes differ, of course

Yeah, I became aware as soon as I finished the game, which is when they do tell you, as you said. Saddest part is that I'd have felt the game was a 9/10 if I had not been extremely frustrated and wary after every single step trying to not miss stuff and have to replay the whole thing.
I did finish it 100%, but honestly mostly not to have to revisit it.

And what I meant by the non-replayability is that there isn't much incentive to replay it; taking different paths or making different decisions, or using the new powers to replay previous areas with new possibilities.

I guess I was fortunate to pick up through community comment quite early in my game, that there was this kind of unlock option, so I didn't need to feel stressed out about missing stuff along the way. Guess the forum was a bit more active when the game was a bit newer. But still, it's not dead on here even after 6 years ;-) and players do try to help each other out, where we can. And there's advice to be found in the Guides and here in old Discussion threads too...

Sorry for your sake that you got frustrated in this one, seems such a pity cause it's a lovely game. Ah well, happens
