Here are some suggestions for Descenders

Collision Settings --

This would allow us to enable player collision for multiplayer, for an added layer of competition, silliness and realism.
Potential concern: Without a lobby-specific toggle, this could ruin the game for everyone due to griefers.


A Level Up System --

Players would be able to level up their Descenders through reputation, with an in-depth prestige leveling system that has integrated, exclusive rewards.

The player's current level and prestige would be invisible to other players by default, with the ability to make it public for others to see -- as well as the ability to hide other players' prestige levels client-side.

The prestige system would overall bring even more replay value to me, and hopefully many others.

An Emote System --

The ability to execute specific emotes while riding.

These would effectively be on-the-ground stunts for those who want to do them.

Emotes would bring in dynamic reputation scaling with the appropriate risk for your Descender.

Examples of this include, in order from lowest rep gain to highest; Riding with one hand < Looking back at the camera with a thumbs up < Riding with no hands.

This would bring in more interactivity to longer stretches, as well as bring in more flashiness for full speed players.

These emotes would only be a small increase to rep gain in comparison to core mechanics.


Race Events --

Timed events that allow players to get together and have fun in multiplayer, without having to look for friends or deal with the often painful public lobbies.

The focus of this game mode should be fun and community; allow a lot more players to join these races. Let the slapstick chaos occur.

The game would randomly pick each track to play, making it a fun, seamless experience.

Players always have 60 seconds (or any reasonable ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time frame) to complete a track. Players who did not finish receive a DNF status with 0 reputation gain, with the game seamlessly transitioning players onto the next track.

A 5, to maybe 10 second timer after track results for players to either opt into the next round or leave as they will.

Each biome has (?) tracks to play in total before the boss jump.


New Unlocks --

More cosmetics to grind for those of us who are done with the current pool.

These cosmetics can either be the usual RNG drop, or tied to the aforementioned level-up-prestige system.

Enjoy the pain and suffering RageSquid put onto you with BikeOut?
Do you want even more sleepless nights, while losing friends and arguing?
Is that a yes I hear?!
Well, worry not!

Last Stand. Bonus objectives give you more rep instead of lives.

For multiplayer, if one player bails everyone loses.

And tie this to a tour so that players feel obligated to suffer.

And while at it, make it a golden run.

P.S.

I feel like all of these have their place in the game, with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tweaking and brainstorming put on top of it of course. A lot of these ideas do have their cons as well, so I'm definitely not saying that these ideas are flawless.

My opinion is that these changes could make this already amazing game, to me, into a dream game.

What a cool thread of feedback! I'll pass this over to the rest of the team, we are working on Descenders next at the moment, so you never know what might make it in!
