Prehistoric Kingdom
Easier to pick up than Planet Zoo?
Hey so I want to like Planet Zoo but it always feels more fiddly than I need it to be. I don't want to hand select every shrub, grass texture or tree that goes into an enclosure or fiddle with tiny individual parts I just want to plonk some general stuff down and keep it simple like the older tycoon type games.

This game looks amazing but I wonder if I'm going to have the same problem. I heard there's a 'foliage painter' which makes decorating enclosures easier?

I guess I want to know if this is a fun pick and play chill kind of game or just for designers who want to manage every detail, which is fine and cool by the way just not how I play these games.

This game is easier to pick up and also offers more creativity. The tools are much easier to use and are overall quite simple, but if you know what you're doing, can make some pretty crazy things. There's a lot less headache than PZ when it comes to building things for the most part.
Hey thanks for taking the time to respond, that sounds promising. I just want to be able to play for an hour or two and feel like I've got a fair bit done rather than feel like I've fiddled with some tiny part the whole time. I'll definitely keep the game on the wishlist and see how it progresses.

Are you me? I love the idea of games like Planet Zoo / Coaster, but the creativity part of my brain apparently died years ago. I just can’t conceptualize and create cool parks. I think I’m finally going to get this one. It costs like one trip to McDonalds these days.

Haha well both of our Steam accounts are old enough to legally vote, drink and get conscripted in most countries so perhaps we're just in that part of life!

I've never been that creative I can get a spark now and then but designing an entire park down to the finest details is too much for me, If I'm tired or I just want to move on I'd much rather just tell the game 'Fill out this habitat with appropriate foliage and meet animal requirements.' I can always adjust it if it put something in a silly place.

If you do decide to pick it up I'd be interested to hear your thoughts since we seem to be in a similar mindset especially how you find it compared to Planet Zoo/Coaster.
