Im playing the dmc hd collection for the first time and in the first one dante dub is a bit trash ngl

Seems like activating Devil Trigger doesn't actually increase damage output like in DMC 1 and 2, at least not for Rebellion. The speed increase is very evident, so would that mean that using DT for attacks is only good for bosses that can get downed/stunned like Geryon and Leviathan Heart? Would it be better to just use the DT explosion then for someone like Vergil? Or is DT explosion the more preferred way for everything?...

It used to work as intended, but later in the playthrough it is broken. I am using controller, xbox one
