DMC2 was better than DMC1 in every way
I dare you to convince me otherwise.

dmc2 makes dante a silent edgelord that flips a coin with both sides the same, which he flips when asked to help the old granny and lucia. Only to appear as an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for no reason. The boss fights and the weapons are dreadful the different swords don't even matter if they have longer reach just pick the one that does the most damage, you can stun lock enemies with just e&i. The bosses are by far the worst thing. The infected chopper can only be shot at, the infected tanks pose no danger to you. And trismagia is cancer to fight on higher difficulties, which you unlock by having to beat a diff on both dante and lucia, and even when you do beat dmd you can only use infinite dt by switching languages. The only thing dmc2 does better is that it feels less outdated when compared to 1.
No jesters for you.

Sure, claim every boss is bad based on the one bad "boss" that everyone universally agrees is bad. Weak.

As opposed to DMC1 I suppose where... oh wait, the strategy for EVERY boss in DMC1 is also "stay away from it and spam ranged attacks" :steamlaughcry:

I've gotten every achievement for dmc2 so I've played through it completely and when i say it's bad i know what I'm talking about unlike you rage baiting here.

While yes there is a good boss in dmc2 which is in mission 8 (i forgot the name) it's enemy and boss roster is no where near dmc1. Dmc1 has phantom, knightmare, nelo angelo. Especially nelo angelo, need i remind you they reused phantom in dmc2?

As for the claim "to beat dmc1 bosses you need to spam ranged attacks" that's false. That's the whole dmc2 gameplay because they made guns overpowered while in dmc1 you need to attack with melee if you want to win. The bosses are fair but unforgiving and if you lack the skill to beat a boss without spamming dt lightning that's a you problem.

Instead of making a rage bait post how about you explain what you didn't like about dmc1 to say it's worse than dmc2 because so far you've said nothing of substance.
Dante runs like he has a stick stuck up his ass

Do you mean that big horned demon? He just repeatedly swings his weapon and spams the circle of fire. The moth with the worms was the only boss that I liked very much.

I'll try harder difficulties soon (after dmc 3 normal difficulty). Although I'm also looking forward to complete dmc 2 for some reason, I have to admit I'm much more looking forward to the bosses in Dmc 1.

If you're planning to experience dmc2 just play through normal with dante, getting every achievement for dmc2 isn't hard it's just tedious. I also recommend getting every achievement in dmc3 then dmc1 and lastly dmc2 if you're going for the 100%. If not then just beat dmd in dmc3 if you're up for the challenge.

As for the moth boss in dmc2 i actually hate that bastard ao much because all you can do is shoot at him, and when he finally dies the stupid worms are all that's left. Even tho the horned demon in mission 8 is very simple in its attacks it felt like a good boss.

My plan is:
1. Dmc 1,2 (normal difficulty) ......... to see the evolution from 1 to 3.
2. Dmc 3 (normal difficulty), 1 (hard), 2 (hard) ........ to play in chronological order
3. Dmc 3 (hard), 1 (dmd), 2 (dmd) ........ to save the best for last - Dmc 3 (dmd)

It's a shame he didn't fight in a way that could made us move a little more like in dmc 1. The worms that fascinated me with their elaborated behavior at least forced me to be alert and dance. Somehow I found it less annoying and more enjoyable than Bolverk with the wolves. Anyway, the biggest shame is that melee combat isn't as varied and enjoyable as it was in dmc 1.

That's so complicated tho, switching so much from game to game. If you're spending like 4 hours a day playing then it won't be as drastic but still I'd stick to playing them all through normal first and then completing all the diffs on the one you like the most first.

As an actual DMC2 fan (yes they exist) I have to say that no, DMC2 isn’t better than 1 , it lacks a lot of what made DMC
Well… DMC. DMC2 removed upgrades, rhythm based combat, and more. There’s little to no challenge in 2, some bosses aren’t very well thought out and some enemy AI is atrociously horrible. The story is also not very well explained. DMC1 has more going on with it, I’m not the biggest fan of 1 all that much but I can confirm that it’s the better game.

... yeah, okay. I guess we can believe whatever we want.

Compared to todays standards, yes. Compared to DMC1, its exactly the same. At the very least you fight enemies in more varied environments than linear corridors (because the camera was worse in DMC1 btw). I can recall many interesting fights, both bosses and regular enemies due to this. In DMC1 the fights are all "try to kill everything before you get killed from off camera".

I will grant that NEITHER game explains their story very well. But as someone who isn't blinded by nostalgia I was just as lost playing DMC1 as DMC2.
This is a joke right?

Its flamebait. So, yes and no.

I stand by what I say, but if you take it too seriously you lose.
