I mean, I GUESS you can ignore votes? though hopefully one would care about votekicks enough to actually vote intelligibly. Doubt this is such a problem.
Given the meme element of the game, no, I'm very against limiting them, even worse that they are cheap items anyone can carry, and not everyone will be USING it. Far more trouble of a change than its worse, let people meme in peace.
Instruments were ENTIRELY a meme, or to be used with lute-bot to play music. Suggesting they become like a dnd bard is ill fitting for the game, and introduces new, unwanted balance headaches. No. This was never the intent of them, don't fix what isn't broke.
No comment on crossbow, I don't play horde. I mean I guess, chiv had 3 level of crossbow so....whatever, I guess? But at that rate, will it be worth it compared to a recurve? meh, whatever.
When you say add more shields / weapons, I BELIEVE you mean skins, since actual weapons are pretty flushed out.
1. Regarding the price of shields and their usefulness, I think it's hard to talk about balance when 80-90% of players in matches use two-handed weapons. This fact alone suggests that something needs to be changed, at least slightly in the price of shields, for example.
2. I didn't quite get you. Is there really an option in the settings to turn off voting so that they don't appear on the screen and distract?
3. I think the meme element ruins this game. It would be better if it were in deathmatches or duels, where it won't interfere with players from team matches.
This was acceptable when there were at least 10k players in the game. Right now there are 802 of them on Steam. Most players in team matches DO NOT do stupid things, do not be friends with the enemy team, but try to participate in battles and win matches.
Now even a small number of musicians and jokers can ruin everything for the whole team.
4. Regarding weapons and shields, we just need something new. Gladius, Copis\Machaira, Macuahuitl, Scutum, Hoplon, Dory. Anything new and unusual, at least in the form of skins.
The game is dying and suffocating, the number of players is gradually decreasing and it is very sad if the developers share your point of view even regarding those little things that I listed in my list of suggestions, which could at least shake up this drying swamp a little.
The shield perhaps isn't well understood for you, the shield gives passive projectile protection, and much better stam game. Its well worth it, and yes, bigger weapons are used MORE, because more players don't TRY to use stam game over just attempting to gamble a kill. Doesn't mean its bad.
I don't know if you can turn it off. Just seems a minor gripe.
I think arbitrary limiting peoples ability to equip a lute wold do more damage than a few games with people being goofy, since this will happen anyway no matter what, be it lutes, or friendly medpack dudes, or pugilists, or peasant classes. It is what it is.
Skins are skins, whatever, but I'm not sure how much more unique weapon types there could be.
1. There are 2 worlds - Crowd fighting and 1v1. Shields already are very good in 1v1.
Afaik, the single parameter, that helps to nerf smth fine in the crowd but OP in the duel and vice versa is - stamina management. Stam matters in 1v1 and quite doesn't in the crowd. Shields have bad stamina managements that helps to nerf them in 1v1.
The reason why we don't use shields is the usability. They take one slot, and they have to be equipped separately. It is not comfortable. Also they are balanced with expensive 2h weapons, that have nice damage and very good reach.
tldr shields are balanced, but less comfortable, Why people would use them?
2. Kick vote supposed to solve some problems and very bad people spam it and you ignore it. Actually it is the goal of spamming to make you press pgup to shut one up.
We need the opposite - more votes. The Mute vote, for example, to shut vote spammer without kicking him.
It is very bad devs haven't seen and not considering the design of the greatest online slasher - Savage1. We had/have many votes there, and yes, usually vote spammer get votemuted quikly.
3. Community hates even the exisitng level of dictatorship, lol
4. Good bard with a good taste really makes people to hold position around him. It works on the human level.
5. agree
6. agree + the skin name should appear in the killfeed instead of the weapon base. Like it must be shown that player killed with a Glaive, for example.
7. agree, but only for open helmets. I worn a bascinet with visor, holes are quite close to the eyes, I could see pretty much everything but wth limted angle, it felt very like 90 fov in the game. So i'd left the small fov for t3 helmets.
And there is no need to change anything at all, because the game is in excellent condition now, and the number of players is increasing every day, right?
Over the past year, I have created several similar topics and several old people always come running and start defending the mess that is currently happening in the game.
Their goals are simply not the same as yours. They aren't trying to revive the game and have huge playercounts, they've already moved on to their next development project.
The changes that are being made are being done by a team of two former modders who have been contracted to work on Mordhau while the rest of the team in their physical studio focus on their next project. That's why we've been getting Demon Horde, and why these other changes are very simple and reminescent of modded changes.
Every time someone has stated this, it has always been ignorant and false. Just because you can't imagine that Horde players exist and want more content, does not mean that they don't exist.
