Did you take it and the achievement didn't trigger? They can be buggy sometimes, maybe restarting the game and re-doing the last segment on the seashore helps.

Otherwise I'd recommend putting it on one of the hooks to ensure you don't lose it, as loose objects can glitch out of the okomotive when you crash into things.
