The game is too shallow.

The core parts of the game, the dungeon crawling and the shopkeeping, are nothing special, not to mention repetitive.

A decent dungeon crawler combined with a store that you manage from your spoils.

The game has a pretty fun gameplay loop, but it gets tired quickly. After the first two areas it was starting to wear on me. I pushed through to the end as I was committed. However, I didn't have it in me to continue on with the DLC, I was just kind of over it at that point.

I enjoyed the combat for the most part. The way you get loot and upgrade your gear is cool. I thought the inventory management with the curses was really unique and one of the most interesting parts of the game. Unfortunately, the game has no story really, and it's just kinda slapped on at the end and doesn't really make much sense. The animation and pixel art are very well done.

Overall, this game provided enough enjoyment to be worth it on sale, even though I didn't play the DLC.
