Itsuno is leaving Capcom
When we know this men was responsible to bring the franchise back, after 10 damm years... It really sucks to see him go, even if this is not the end for DMC. For me DMC 5 was worth the wait, it's on par with DMC 3 for me and i was dying for a sequel, now i'm very worried about it.

Sure, a remake of the OLD games would be "easy" to do, but i don't want just a DMC 1 or 3 done from scratch, and i sure don't care if it takes another damm 10 years, just make it a WORTHY sequel of DMC 5.

Well now I'm afraid of what they might come up with, but time will tell~ As you say, better to wait another years than to see a bad version later. In my opinion, there are a lot of interesting storylines that could be used to make another good game, as long as someone takes over the baton who approaches this series with passion. About the remakes, honestly I think I wouldn't want to see the remake of DMC3, this game ages well, and still holds up very good; I would rather consider DMC1 or DMC2.

As long Bingo Morihashi as a writer returns I guess we should be safe.
Its not like Itsuno takes his whole team with him right?

I mean Capcom is really nailing it right now with Resident Evil, Monster Hunter and Street Fighter - and "they" nailed DMC 5 as well,

Would love to have a remake for DMC 1-3 as well, but I doubt they would go down that route.

DMC 3 is still very playable and smooth. Visuals might have aged technically wise, but the art direction is still impeccable.

DMC 1 could benefit from a remake improving on the gameplay flow and maybe expanding and polishing the narrative.

DMC 2 would profit by far the most from a remake... but I doubt anyone would be excited about Capcom going back to that game.

Sequels might be about a next generation for now as well looking at how DMC 5 concluded the main story. So maybe a fresh take wouldn't be so bad.

Not sure about Nero returning as a/the main character, he is married and kinda part of the concluded 4-5 story.
So maybe his kids will continue the next games?

But I guess we keep getting "only" occasional new DMC games.

So cya in 2029 ^^

That game wasn't as awful as people make it out to be. It's no dmc5 but it's pretty good. Too bad pc never got the special edition stuff. That fixed some of the complaints. Dante may have been a little cringe but the story was cool otherwise and the presentation was cool too.

To be honest, the story was pretty bad... It was just trying to mix little bits of DMC 1 with 3, making so that demons are in this Limbo thingy, and people can't see them, until the end of the game. Plus they made Sparda NOTHING like his original version, a complete waste of character.

The only good thing is the gameplay... Can't enjoy it much when Dante in DmC is complete trash.

The areas and music sure are nice, could say the same about the enemies. Though i really f hate the characters and the story, seriously. It's worse for someone that went deep into the lore and characters of the original franchise.

To me the series was always kind of shlocky that's why I'm not so invested. I just turn my brain off and enjoy the silliness and carnage. I understand why people don't like it though

Giving DMC2 a remake is such a repugnant idea; you would be rewarding that game for being horrible and almost killing the franchise.
On top of that people would still claim that "the original is superior" due to most players' rejection of modern games.

A DMC 2 remake is definitely the most unrealistic thing anyway.
Remaking "Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City" would be even more likely than that.

But if done correctly I would even buy a DMC2 Remake day one.
