I just bought this game and it won't start. Every time I click to play nothing happens. What???

So ive been in chapter 5(?) for a long while now and ive been struggling. I have finally completely run out of items. ive collected over $10,000 since the last time ive had access to a shop and no idea how im supossed to get more items. I figured i would find something soon and have been pusing through, but now i just encountered the boss in the computer(what seems to be the "final boss"), fight went on 68 turns until i finally died. Does anybody have a guide for where the 6 cards are? There's no guide with all the cards and I keep missing one over my 3 playthroughs.
