Wow, absolutely cool tool. Finally a way I can get some Hellion time in at work without getting in to trouble. Only request would be a way to save and share our designs.

You can - simply keep/bookmark the URL in your browser and share it if you want.

Note if you edit the design the URL will change - remember to re-bookmark them if you make changes.

For example - here's a station I've designed and am now building in-game...[gametools.online] :)

OMG, thats station porn. Do you think the game can handle that many modules? Just curious, why do you use the s connectors to lower the CQMs? Is that for turret coverage? Also, what do you think about terminating with a lifepod? I'm trying to figure out what I do next and I was thinking on the next patch I'm going to terminate with my lifepod so when I finish my base I can easily haul it somewhere else and seed a new base. It's too much of a pain in the ass to rework everything so late in 0.2.6 (for me anyway). Insane base though. You're going to need crew.

Thanks! The station is designed with security in mind, and features the high-security ring core, and two additional low-security public docking areas, as this is intended as a trading station of sorts. Cargo storage is expandable outwards along it's current axis, possibly requiring some adjustment of the public docking ports to do so.

The CMs are arranged in such a way that the ring features zero unlockable service hatches - all routes in to the ring are via turret-guarded AMs or CBMs. The low security sections do have exposed service hatches but they are still considered 'outside' the main base and have locked doors and turrets between them.

Here's an in-game screenshot I took yesterday - the ring is only one CLM short of being complete now so this picture is a bit behind.

I'd recommend placing your Outpost as close to the end of a docking chain - if you want to start a new base it's easier to takt this with you if there's not a lot of base re-organisation involved, plus if you Fresh Start, your old Outpost will self destruct (15 min timer I think) so you wouldn't want that to break apart your base!

Brilliant. I just recreated my base in minutes. This will make planning modifications to the base much much easier.

Are there lockable service hatches? I'm asking because your ring features 8 CMs and all of them have 2 exposed hatches in your setup.

CMs hatches are blocked off like the AMs external ones so I'm fairly sure this poses no security risk.

What do you mean when you say blocked off? I'm relatively new to the game and in my station i think i have access to all vents so i don't know what to expect being different if i were to try it at an other players modules

The CM's 'ports' aren't actually ports. Take a look at the airlock end of an AM next time your are in-game and you'll notice there are grilles over the end that you can't get though. CM is the same so you can use things like CQMs and CSMs safely (they have no ports at all - just the docking connector).

CTM's have a weird configuration that usually leaves a port exposed on what it's docked to - the only safe place here is to port A or B of the CM to terminate a run of one or more CTMs from another CM - there are two sections in this configuration in my design, with the CTMs having pedestrian AMs with the CM's exterior 'chin' turrets overlooking them.
