Minor bug?
Not sure if this is related to the view distance/supersampling patch (as it happens even with those options turned off) but I don't recall seeing it in previous builds. In the prologue, little bits of the cliff face appear to morph shape as you move to/away from them. Haven't noticed it happen anywhere else in the game.

Hi,

Thank you for the report! I was able to reproduce this in the final build from 2023 (1.5.48) - this is now on the beta branch "previous" on Steam if you're interested in taking a look too.

It should be noted that it highly depends on your FOV setting, e.g. higher than default FOVs trigger this behaviour (it initially confused me when I tried with the default setting).

I will investigate rolling a fixed landscape level of detail into the new Enable Highest Model Detail option, and report back here once there's something to test out.

Thanks,
Alan

Can confirm that seems to have been the cause, I had my FOV at 100. I tried it at 70 and the problem wasn't evident.

I further investigated the underlying cause of this but decided to stop - I think this is going to end up somewhere in the renderer (e.g. high FOV causing strange results with the shadow or landscape system) and it's going to be a bit of a rabbit hole.

I will mark my initial response as the accepted answer, at least for now.

Ok, fair enough.
