this is relatively new.... just bought last June. This is the game where my pc runs that hot. i just completed baldurs gate 3 at max settings even played resident evil 4 remake with max but temps hover at around 60-70c with highest around 75c.

Its CPU problem, not in game. Origins was a true next-gen game of its time, still can load CPU and GPU very hard.

well i wonder... playing a more demanding game- cyberpunk just hovering at 65-75c never reaching 80c. average 90fps everything maxed out with quality dlss

Origins spikes 80c every a min or so at 90fps. 69-75c

No, it's not a "CPU problem". AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D has 120W default TDP, and 13600K has 128W TDP and reaches 180W in boost mode. You need serious cooler to keep temps down on these CPUs. I have Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 and it keeps my CPU under 90C on most demanding tests, so there's no thermal throttling. We were just noticing here that Origins is taxing CPU more than other games that have even better and more complex gameplay and graphics.

A newer game does not mean a "better quality game" or "more CPU intensive game".

The world simulation in Cyberpunk 2077 is very primitive, it's the weather, cars and crowds of people around. Everything else is very primitive.

For example, the water simulation in Origins is still much better than in Cyberpunk.

That is debatable, which game has more complex world simulation. Regarding the "water simulation", if it is properly done (yup, I worked as game developer for more than 15 years), geometry shaders (which means GPU) should be handling 95% of it.

This is the most helpful reply from my OG issue. Somehow this game taxes my CPU more than almost all of my games in my Library. I play resident evil 4 max settings with rt on remake with honkai starrail (also 3440x1440p) in background for auto grind with temps not more than 75c.

This game tho easily reaches 80c just for opening menu and map. Constant 75c at 140% resolution. 80c at 100% resolution.

I have a 5900X and my temps are 60-62C. I use a Gigabyte Aorus Waterforce X280 cooler. I don't think that it's too bad.

Your resolution? Where do you live?

Fps?

I have 1440p reso and 144fps.

Even cyberpunk and Hogwarts legacy at max reso and ray tracing doesn't get me at 70c
Seems a bit high. I have CPU and it only reach max temp of 59 c. on arctic liquid cooler III 360 aio.
