Invisible L4D2 Menu
I got no problems with the update at all except vulkan not being perfectly tuned for L4D2 yet but lets see what the futute brings...Thats why its so strange that some people seem to have trouble and others are fine.

I want to help you people, but before i can do this you should do following steps:

-disable Steam Cloud for L4D2
-disable all addons
-make sure you dont have any custom gameinfo.txt
-remove all start parameter
-verify your gamefiles

Still got problems? Lets investigate this issue. ( Focus on the invisible menu for now. Dont go offtopic please )

disabling cloud and verifying files didn't work for me, right now in process of reinstalling game entirely

Here is what I tried, without success so far:

1. Reinstall the whole game, twice.
2. Verify the integrity of game cache, 4 times.
3. Disable all addons.
4. Remove all launch commands.
5. Delete the cfg folder, and download it again from Steam.
6. Reinstall my Windows 8.1.
7. Disable steam cloud.

I tried all these, without any success sadly. After this update, low spec PC's / Laptops are unable to even play the game unfortunately.

My Laptop Specs: 4GB RAM, 256MB VRAM (NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G), Intel (R) Pentium (R) Dual CPU T3200 2 GHz., 116GB HDD.

reinstalling didn't help, seems that only thing we can do is wait for another fix

With the help of King-C there was one solution which brang back all menu elements.

We added those launch parameters:

-force_vendor_id 0x10DE -force_device_id 0x0191

What those do is basicly telling the game that theres not a Laptop GPU in use but a known 'NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX'.

In conclusion, it seems that this issue appears on older Laptops/Notebooks.

(This will not be a solution of issues caused by outdated UI/HUD mods)

You add it to your launch parameters:

The way to add them might be look different cause Steam got updated alot in the previous months.

Library - Home - Left 4 Dead 2 - Properties - Launch Options. Put it there.
