Tic-tac up the tree as it has weird wall-like collisions? You dont need to use a grappling hook to get it

This.But if you do want to use the hook, just stand on the big stack of two boxes on the Bazaar side, jump, and throw the hook up. Hit the interact button at the same time. I've literally never missed it this way.

Agreed that spamming grappling hook is not a fun mechanic - this is why you get special boons from infected around you that may let you double jump, so you can easily grab it from the tree :) You choose way you play ;)
