[Breakdown] Integrity Bonus - Ammo Weapon Class [Out of Date]
This Spreadsheet is being kept up to date.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1e94Wqyh4sWEopfZWQzW6GNFFg_bga8TvTC9SOnWpO2w/edit#gid=0

Rest of guide is old data and out of date

Weapon Class 1 shows a Red Fox/Coyote
  • .223 - Class 0 really.
  • 12ga Bird Shot - Class 0 really.
  • .357
  • 300 Gr Small Arrow
Weapon Class 2 shows a Deer
  • .243
  • .270
  • 30-30 - Less powerful than .270 but more useful all-round.
  • 45-70
  • .44
  • 12ga Buck Shot
  • 420gr Broadhead Arrow
Weapon Class 3 shows a Bear
  • 7mm
  • .454
  • 12ga Slug
  • 600gr Broadhead Arrow
Weapon Class 4 shows a Bison
  • .338

All this next information is on the basis that you only hit ONE time with a Vital shot(12ga Buckshot and Birdshot fire multiple pellets so I don't quite know how they work out with integrity bonus)

Yes you can kill everything with the weaker weapons but it's not recommended, try to pick the highest calibre allowed for what species you are hunting

Rifle Ammo Integrity Table
Assuming since you can kill everything above red fox with a .243 and get 100% integrity, that the .223 will also give 100% Integrity for everything.

223 is class 0, Fox only.
243 is class 1, the game tells you wrong about that in codex. You are able to shoot row deer, Coyote, Blacktail, Fellow Deer(wrong in codex) and Wild Boar(don't know about Boar right now) with 100%
270 is class 2, Whitetail and Bear
7mm is class 3, Red Deer and Roosevelt Elk
.338 is class 4, Moose and Bison

That is what i experienced in the game and this is only with oneshot kills! More then one shot and every weapon will generate an integrity loss.
Tanktyr 24 Feb, 2017 @ 2:18am
7mm gives 100% on bears too, 223 gives 100% on roe deer/coyote
Mark 24 Feb, 2017 @ 5:41am
Updating post made a list of 100% Integrity still need to confirm Whitetail with 30-30 but 45-70 is definetly too powerful for them.

Need to check
.223 - Whitetail, Blacktail
.243 - Bear
.270 - Roe, Blacktail - 0% on Fox/Coyote?
30-30 - Roe, Whitetail, Bear, Bison
7mm - Bison
45-70 - Bear, Bison
.338 - Bear

Need all figures for 100% integrity on Red Deer and Boar

You'll find all the info about which weapon class fits which animal in the Codex, under "wildlife". They sure hid it well, though!
bob bubble 24 Feb, 2017 @ 6:15am
with the .338:
100% bison
0% red deer and black bear

.270:
100% wild boar,red deer, roosevelt elk, bison,moose
50% one time with soft-point bullets at black bear
0% blacktail deer, roe deer

.243:
100%(one shot) coyote, 0% (2shot)

420gr Arrow:
100% whitetail/blacktail deer, roe, coyote,moose
0% red fox

Very nice. When you have completed this, please make a official guide. So i won't get lost in the discussions

As far as i can see it it apears that .270 is like a transition between .243 and 7mm.
For Blacktail Does its to powerfull for 100% but for a Gold Trophy Buck it fits right.
I assume that the weight of a animal has something to do or at least you get an idea what weapon you should use when you can read the weight of tracks.
The weapon class in it self isnt realy helpfull or at least just inconsistent.
I guess when you start reading all availible informations (Weight, Score and Gender) correct then you can get better understanding wich suitable weapon you should use.
davidself1001 24 Feb, 2017 @ 6:50am
the .270 is not a true class 2. i think they need to fix this so that there is a clear definition for which ammo/gun to use on which animals. i have had both whitetail and blacktail show 0% with a .270. i get consistent 100% with the .243 so i just use it if i am hunting deer. they should create a clear table and put it in the codex that shows guns/ammo on one axis and animals on the other axis. I have even suggested that they put your current ammo and which animals it kills (if you hover your mouse over the ammo type) down in the lower right corner HUD.
Tanktyr 24 Feb, 2017 @ 6:52am
Whitetails always gave me 100% with the 270, blacktails 0% tho since they are smaller
gooseman81 24 Feb, 2017 @ 6:53am
yep and the weapon class 2 for 45/70 is just plainly wrong it should be 4 like the 338 LapMag because 45/70 is a hel of a caliber
WINTERSTELLAR 24 Feb, 2017 @ 7:04am
So with the 7MM you won't get 100% on bison ? weird.
Tanktyr 24 Feb, 2017 @ 7:07am
Yup, 45-70 is what is used on bisons in classic too
WINTERSTELLAR 24 Feb, 2017 @ 7:10am
You could add that bullets with higher penetration are for long distance shots and the ones with higher expansion for close shots.

@Lauri just wanted to know if you could get 100% integrity with the 7MM at long range :-)
Chaser82 24 Feb, 2017 @ 7:14am
Everything in this game is messed up, ammo description and integrity bonus are
not an exception. Everything need to be fixed/looked into.

Btw .243 is 100% integrity on bear.

You should rename this thread and ask for it to be sticky, could help many people!
Rickenbacker 24 Feb, 2017 @ 7:33am
Here's my accumulated data, from digging through the store and Codex.
Weapon classes:
.223 = 1
.270 = 2
7mm = 3
.338 = 4
30-30 = 2
.45-70 = 2
.357 = 1
.44 = 2
.454 = 3
12ga birdshot = 0
12ga buck = 2
12ga slug = 3
300gr small game arrow = 1
420gr broadhead arrow = 2
600gr broadhead arrow = 3

Animals:

Black bear = 2
Blacktail deer = 2
Coyote = 1
European bison = 4
Fallow deer = 2
Moose = 4
Red deer = 3
Red fox = 0
Roe deer = 1
Roosevelt elk = 3
Whitetail deer = 2
Wild boar = 2

I also compiled all the callers and what animals they work for, since I was digging through this stuff anyway:

Antler rattler = Fallow deer
Bleat caller = Blacktail deer, Whitetail deer
Boar caller = Wild boar
Elk caller = Roosevelt elk
Fawn call = Black bear
Grunt caller = Blacktail deer, Whitetail deer
Moose caller = Moose
Rabbit caller = Red fox, Coyote
Red deer caller = Red deer
Roe deer caller = Roe deer

Perhaps I should make this a separate post... I think I will.
