No instructions. How do you select a word?

Hello! I would like to know where the game saves its data (on Windows 10), so I can transfer my save game to my new computer. I couldn't find it in all the usual locations I searched. Thanks in advance.

In the preview, there's a countdown in the upper right-hand corner. Is that a time limit? If it is, can it be turned off? I often play puzzle games to relax and having to solve things quickly within a narrow time frame is not my idea of relaxation.
