Because of the way combat in foxhole works, the hardcore gamers are almost never on the front lines (as they can see everything else that needs to be done) and after the shadowdancing nerf/removal anyone who plays infantry for 2 or so hours is about on a level playing field with the rest of the player base.
Being good at this game is not a question of skill but of game knowledge, and the game is very bad at teaching anything but the most basic of skills. If you make an effort to learn and don't try to run a tank or build a base until someone has taught you how you will be fine.
One thing to note about the community is that it is VERY conscious and suspecting of
possible alt accounts (people who play on the opposing side and buy extra copies of the game to use for sabotage/scouting) and as a new player you will be at risk of being misidentified. To avoid this, use voice chat and be polite to the people around you.
Most players are friendly and helpful, ask questions often, T to voice chat and enter to text chat.
Player number is healthy https://steamdb.info/app/505460/charts/
There are only two servers right now, Able is the main one that's always up and Charlie is only up when a huge influx of players is expected like a big update war.
If you want to run frontlines, yes you mostly fine. However if you go for logistic anything above basic would be problem in current years due discord cabal and clans claims.
P.s. Post under mine who replied to me, is made by cabalite, who as usual lie to cover up inconvinient truth.
But if course, if you come to my facility, rry to take the expensive materials that i farmed, refuse to talk and don't put it back, i'll shoot at you
I dont know why everyone is afraid of toxic people. They're people. You dont go out in public worried about "toxic" people. Same case here. Running into the occasional d!ckhead isn't impossible. But you can do just about everything in the game as a solo player.
You can have a lot of fun. The big things are, be intelligent (A hard task for a lot of this community!) be willing to listen, and finally have a mic. Trying to communicate via text with a dynamic and rapidly shifting war isn't gonna work.
A lot of times you'll get an opportunity to play with big toys when someone needs a gunner or w/e.
I recommend starting out doing some basic logistics. Your best bet is to watch a video to get a basic idea of things. When supplying towns your name and a list of what you delivered will pop up and people will commend you. While ranks don't mean anything, someone with a higher rank vs a no-rank just starting out will be trusted a little more than the reverse.
The problem is it's populated with the most toxic players I've ever seen
